MCP is the front door

The most common question we get after the office metaphor lands: "okay, but how do my agents get in?" The answer is one protocol: MCP, the Model Context Protocol, the open standard that lets AI agents connect to tools and data sources they didn't ship with.

AgentOS exposes your whole office over MCP. That means Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any custom agent you've built can walk in through the same front door and find the same things a new hire would:

• The filing cabinet, who your customers are, what's been promised, what happened on the last call.
• The handbook, how your business actually does things, kept current automatically.
• The whiteboard, what's in flight, what's blocked, and what just changed.

No copy-pasting context into a chat window. No per-task prompt engineering. The agent asks the office; the office answers with what's true right now.

Walking in the front door doesn't mean the run of the building. Reads are broad , that's the point of shared memory. Writes are evidence-gated: when an agent wants to update a record, the change carries its receipt, and Otto reconciles it against what's actually known. Unclear evidence becomes a question, not a guess. Correct it once, and the correction sticks.

Why the front door is MCP

We did not pick a niche protocol. MCP started at Anthropic and became the industry's front door in under a year. OpenAI adopted it in March 2025, with Sam Altman saying "people love MCP and we are excited to add support across our products." Google followed in April 2025, with Demis Hassabis calling it "rapidly becoming an open standard for the AI agentic era." In December 2025 Anthropic donated MCP to the Agentic AI Foundation, a directed fund under the Linux Foundation co-founded with Block and OpenAI. By then there were more than 10,000 active public MCP servers and over 97 million monthly SDK downloads.

Translation: whatever agent you use next year will speak MCP. Which means it already knows how to walk into your office.

Your stack stays your stack
