AgentOS vs Google Gemini for business
Google Gemini is the AI built into Gmail, Docs and Meet. AgentOS is the layer that connects every AI tool a company uses, Gemini included. If your team runs on Google Workspace, Gemini comes with your plan and already knows your files. Most companies don't stop at one AI tool, though. Someone pays for ChatGPT, someone prefers Claude, and each one keeps its own memory and its own bill. AgentOS gives them a shared memory and shows you what they cost together. You keep Gemini.
AgentOS vs Google Gemini at a glance
| Google Gemini | AgentOS | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | AI in Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Meet, the Gemini app, and Gemini Enterprise for building and running agents | A workspace that holds your company's knowledge and tools, runs workflows on them, and shares them with every AI tool you use |
| Where company knowledge comes from | Your Google Workspace data, plus connectors to other apps. In Gemini Enterprise, many third-party connectors are still in preview | Gmail, Slack, Google Drive, your CRM and more, connected once and shared with every tool |
| Works best when | The company runs on Google Workspace | The company uses several AI tools, from more than one vendor |
| Memory | Per person. In the Gemini app, memory of past chats isn't available on work accounts | One company memory that ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and your own agents all read from |
| Models | Google's Gemini models. Other vendors' models are only on Google's developer platform | Model-agnostic. Use any model side by side, or bring your own key |
| Seeing what AI costs | Usage reports show who uses Gemini, not what it costs. Gemini Enterprise has its own spending page | One view of AI use and spend across the tools and teams you connect |
| Price | Included in Workspace plans, from $7 to $22 per user a month at list price. Gemini Enterprise starts at $21 per seat a month (as of Oct 6, 2026) | Free to start. See the pricing page for current plans |

What does Google Gemini do well?
For a company on Google Workspace, Gemini is the easiest AI to adopt. It's already in Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Meet, and it's included in the plan you pay for. It can answer from your own files and email, and it only shows each person what they already have permission to see.
Google has built a lot around it. Gems let a team save a custom version of Gemini for a task. Gemini Notebook, the new name for NotebookLM, turns a pile of documents into something you can question. Gemini Enterprise is a separate product for finding, building and running agents, with a no-code builder and connectors to Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira and others.
It's also strong on compliance. Google says Workspace content isn't used to train its models, and it holds the certifications large companies ask for.
Where does Gemini stop?
Gemini knows Google. That's why it's so good inside Workspace, and it's also where it ends.
Take memory. In the Gemini app, Google's help page says memory of past chats isn't available when you sign in with a work account. Gemini Enterprise does remember things, but per person. There's no shared company memory that your ChatGPT or Claude seats can use.
Models are Google's own. That's fine until part of your team gets better results from Claude or ChatGPT for certain work, which is common. Then you have two or three AI tools, and Gemini has no view of the others.
Cost is split the same way. Workspace usage reports tell you who is using Gemini. They don't show spend, and they only cover Google's AI. Gemini Enterprise has a spending page for itself, and that's all it covers.
How is AgentOS different?
AgentOS isn't a replacement for Gemini. It sits underneath Gemini and every other AI tool your company uses.
You connect the places your knowledge lives, including Gmail and Google Drive, and AgentOS keeps one shared, current picture of the business. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and your own agents connect to it over MCP, the standard way AI tools plug into other systems. Google supports MCP as well, which is how Gemini agents can connect to outside systems like AgentOS.
You decide what each tool can see and change. Answers link back to the email, call or document they came from, and when an agent wants to change something important, it waits for a person to approve it.
You also get one view of AI use across the company: which models each team uses, what that costs, and where an expensive model is doing a job a cheaper one could do.
Should you use Gemini, AgentOS or both?
Use Gemini for everyday work inside Google Workspace: drafting in Docs, summarizing a thread in Gmail, taking notes in Meet. It's included, and it's good at it.
Add AgentOS when your team also uses ChatGPT, Claude or other AI tools, when you want company knowledge in one place instead of inside each vendor's product, or when someone needs to see the combined cost.
Plenty of companies end up with both. Gemini stays where it's strong, and everything shares one foundation.
What are the other Google Gemini alternatives?
The usual lists name other assistants: ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity. Each is worth trying, and each is one more AI tool with its own memory and its own bill. If you're picking a single assistant, compare them on your team's real work. If you already have several, read how AgentOS works with ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot.

Questions people ask
Is AgentOS a Google Gemini alternative?
Not a replacement. Gemini is an AI assistant. AgentOS is the layer underneath your AI tools: it gives Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude and your agents one shared memory and gives you one view of what they cost. Most teams keep Gemini and add AgentOS.
Is Gemini included in Google Workspace?
Yes. As of October 6, 2026, Google's pricing page shows Gemini included in Workspace Business plans, listed at $7, $14 and $22 per user a month for Starter, Standard and Plus. Starter only includes Gemini in Gmail.
How much does Gemini Enterprise cost?
Google lists Gemini Enterprise Business starting at $21 per seat a month and Standard and Plus starting at $30, as of October 6, 2026. Heavy use can add metered charges once pooled limits are reached.
Does Gemini remember past conversations at work?
In the Gemini app, Google says memory of past chats isn't available on work accounts. Gemini Enterprise has personal memory for each user, which an admin can turn off. Neither is shared across a team or with other AI tools.
Can Gemini connect to non-Google apps?
Yes. Gemini in Workspace added MCP integrations with tools like HubSpot, Salesforce and Asana in September 2026, and Gemini Enterprise has connectors for Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira and others. Many Gemini Enterprise connectors are still in preview.
Can we use Gemini and ChatGPT together?
Many companies do. The catch is that each one keeps its own memory and its own bill. AgentOS gives both the same company knowledge and shows you the combined use and cost.
If Gemini is one of several AI tools your company uses, AgentOS is free to try. Connect Gmail, Drive and one or two other apps, and give every tool the same picture of the business.
